Cameron Cupido

CEO: Southern Africa

Cameron's vision has always been to head up a powerful regional player in African reinsurance.

Today he does just that, guiding a specialist team of brokers within one of South Africa's few majority black-owned reinsurance companies in providing solutions for clients across Southern Africa.

He is also responsibile for the Mauritian and Indian Ocean Islands market, where he develops and maintains the group's portfolio of business in this region. He oversees a producing broker team in Mauritius that services Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Reunion Island. 

Previous positions include stints in treaty underwriting and broking with Munich Re, Aon Benfield and Willis Re, and 2 years in London as a Lloyds broker.

He has strong solutions-focused technical and brokering skills, and solid treaty pricing, structuring and placement expertise.

Cameron holds a BSc in Mathematics (2001) from Wits University and is an associate member of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (AMASSA).


Blessing Chiguye

Executive: Southern African & Lusophone Markets

Blessing focuses on business development in the Southern African and Lusophone countries, acting as the primary contact point for existing and new clients in these markets.

He has extensive knowledge of the African reinsurance and insurance markets, specifically treaty design and structuring, and facultative reinsurance placements. He also has an excellent track record for building solid client relationships.

Blessing holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Risk Management and Insurance (2012) from the National University of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe), and a Diploma in Insurance (2014) from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII, UK). He is working towards Advanced Status with CII.


Delia Wood

Executive Head of Broking South Africa

Delia oversees the day-to-day broking of existing RSIS business, enhances operational efficiency, and drives new business development initiatives in South Africa.

With proven expertise in strategic business development, client retention, leadership, and underwriting in both treaty and facultative reinsurance, she brings a set of diverse skills to the business.

Delia has more than 30 years' experience in reinsurance broking, underwriting and client management across Africa and global markets, managing key portfolios for major reinsurers and brokers.

At her core, she is motivated by helping clients succeed. She is solutions-focused, detail-oriented and has a strong commitment to doing the work required to deliver meaningful, practical outcomes.

Previous positions included Technical Accounts Manager and Broker at Aon Re Africa (now AonBenfield); Treaty Manager and Assistant Manager at African Reinsurance Corporation; Operations Director at Oak Tree Intermediaries; Senior Vice President at Guy Carpenter Africa; and most recently, Client Manager at Munich Reinsurance of Africa.

Wood holds Diplomas in Bookkeeping and Practical Accounting (Damelin) and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA)

She has completed the Management Development Programme at the University of Cape Town, the Women's Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford (Said Business School) and the Visionary Business Leadership Programme at the Gordon Institute for Business Science.


Shelley Lotz

Finance Manager

Shelley oversees the finance function at Reinsurance Solutions Intermediary Services. She is a highly skilled finance professional with more than 18 years' experience in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and group consolidation across multiple jurisdictions.

Shelley has a proven track record of providing strategic oversight for complex structures, including trusts, partnerships and corporate entities. She is skilled at working autonomously at a high level, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and managing high-value assets across diverse tax and legal environments.

She is a chartered accountant CA (SA) registered with SAICA (2002). She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Honours) from the University of Johannesburg (1999) and has completed the Impact Investing in Africa programme with the University of Cape Town (2021). 


Daisy Piemontese

Broker

Daisy is responsible for the day-to-day broking of existing business and driving new business opportunities across key markets in Southern Africa.

She has close to 10 years' insurance industry experience, previously having worked in non-life underwriting at Global Alliance Seguros - Insurance in Mozambique.

Daisy holds a Diploma in Financial and Banking Management from the Institute of Banking Training of Mozambique (2013).

She has also completed a Certification in Short-Term Insurance Commercial (COM) from the Learning Academy of South Africa (2020), a Certification in Insurance and Re-insurance from the London School of Insurance & African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re) (2021), and is currently completing a Diploma in Insurance with the Zimbabwe Insurance Institute.
